Singer-actor Vijay Yesudas and his designer wife Darshana are reportedly not heading for a split. Rumours of the couple opting for a divorce after nine years of marriage had been circulating for some time now. However, Deccan Chronicle reports that there is no truth to these rumours.
“No, it is not true at all. We are not heading towards a split,” Darshana told DC.
News of the couple’s alleged separation comes soon after two other couples headed for divorce last week – actress Lissy – director Priyadarshan, and Soundarya Rajinikanth- businessman Ashwin Ramkumar.
Through an official press release last week, Lissy – who now goes by the name Lissy Lakshmi – confirmed the end of her marriage. “My marriage with Mr Priyadarsan officially ended today. We both have signed the final papers at the Honorable Family Court here in Chennai today. This has been a real ordeal,” she said. After 25 years of marriage, the couple approached the divorce court in March 2016. Ever since their separation was made public, the former couple have been the target of many rumours. The alleged bitterness between the duo spilled out into the open when Lissy filed domestic violence charges against Priyadarshan. After a long legal battle, an amicable settlement was made.

On the same note, rumours of Soundarya Rajinikanth, director/graphic designer and daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, and Ashwin Ramkumar’s marriage ending were quietly speculated before Soundarya officially confirmed on Twitter. Soundarya and Ashwin were married in 2010, and have a one year old son, Ved Krishna. Rumours of the separation have been circulating for over a month now.

Interestingly, along with Vijay and Darshana’s separation rumours, news of award-winning actor Bobby Simha splitting from his wife, Reshmi Menon, too has been making news. The two got married on 22 April this year. Simha, fed up with the rumours, had a witty response to add through his official Facebook account.
