Jayasurya has his next flick lined up and the trailer is out. Directed by Ranjith Sankar, Njan Marykutty marks the fifth collaboration between the actor and director. Focusing on the social setting in Kerala, the film will see Jayasurya in a transsexual role.
The trailer starts off by revealing the trapped identity of Marykutty (Jayasurya), who has taken the form of a man, but is seeking medical help to completely transform into a woman. The trailer then unfolds introducing a few important characters in Marykutty’s life, including Suraj Venjaramoodu, the district collector and other actors- Innocent, Joju, Jewel Mary and Aju Varghese.
Marykutty believes in the ideology that the world belongs neither to men nor to women, but to the one who is talented. With that in mind, Marykutty participates in a marathon with the will to win.

Ranjith Sankar who is known for addressing the socio-political settings of Kerala through his films, has done the same with this film as well. The duo’s previous outing Su..Su… Sudhi Vathmeekam, brought out the versatility of Jayasurya, making it one his most memorable roles. And with Njan Marykutty, the actor is aiming nothing lesser than that!
Produced under the banner of Dreams and Beyond, the film is bankrolled by Jayasurya himself. The story is also written by Ranjith Sankar and the music is composed by Anand Madhusoodanan. The film is scheduled to release in June.
