Thuramukham features Biju Menon, Indrajith Sukumaran and Nimisha Sajayan in prominent roles. The movie marks Poornima Indrajith’s return to acting. The story of the film will be spread across several years, reports ToI. The director’s previous film Kammattipadam was also similar in this regard.
Thuramukham is set against the backdrop of the Cochin port. According to an IE report, the movie will be set in the 1950s. However, not much has been revealed about the nature of the story or its characters. It is noteworthy that Nivin Pauly played a fisherman in Sathyan Anthikkad’s Puthiya Theerangal.
The movie will go on floors in March. It is produced by Thekkepat Films.
Nivin Pauly was last seen in Haneef Adeni’s Mikhael. He is currently awaiting the release of Moothon.
Moothon, meaning the elder one in Lakshadweep dialect, is the story of a man who journeys from the union territory to the Indian mainland in search of his elder sibling. Initially titled Insha Alla, the script by Geetu Mohandas had won the Global Filmmaking award at the Sundance Film Festival. Anurag Kashyap, a co-producer on the film, wrote the Hindi dialogues.
Nivin Pauly is currently shooting alongside Nayanthara for Dhyan Sreenivasan’s Love Action Drama. The movie is rumoured to be a spin-off of Vadakkunokkiyanthram, made by the director’s father Sreenivasan. Love Action Drama is the maiden production venture of actor Aju Varghese. The movie will release on September 5 during Onam.
