Netflix Acquires ‘Baahubali’ Streaming Rights For Rs. 25 Crore

Netflix has acquired the streaming rights of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion from producers Arka Mediaworks. If reports are to be believed, Netflix made the acquisition for a sum of four million dollars, roughly Rs 25 crore.

Co-producer Shobu Yarlagadda believes that this will be an opportunity for the two movies to reach countries across the world. 

Yarlagadda said, “Netflix is very bullish about the India market and is here for the long term. It is looking to acquire both licensed content and make originals but won’t lap up everything. We are happy and excited to partner with Netflix. Theatrically, it’s not possible to reach all markets, but with this deal Baahubali will reach 192 countries seamlessly.”

Starring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati in leading roles, Baahubali 1 and went on to become huge successes in the Indian and international markets. The film’s second and final part completed its 100-day run at the box-office recently and grossed roughly Rs 1700 crore.
