The trailer of H Vinoth’s Nerkonda Paarvai is out. The film stars Ajith, Shraddha Srinath, Abhirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang in the lead. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Gokul Chandran. Boney Kapoor is the producer of the film.
The two-minute trailer shows that the film may not be a one-man show, even as it stays true to story of the original Pink, with Ajith reprising the role of the lawyer played by Amitabh Bachchan, and Shraddha, Abhirami and Andrea, the three friends who are sexually harassed and framed for murder by people with influence.
In a courtroom, the women are constantly questioned about their choices. Shraddha Srinath shines in the trailer. She speaks her mind and does not seem to show the doubt and restraint that Taapsee’s character had in the original. Ajith is determined to clear them of the charges. Unlike the original he also has a fight sequence outside the court room. The trailer ends with Ajith the lawyer saying it is not okay to deride others just because you like someone.
The film stars Adhik Ravichandran as one of the antagonists, Rangaraj Pandey reprises Piyush Mishra’s role as the lawyer fighting against Ajith. Sujith Shankar, Delhi Ganesh, Jeya Prakash, D Ramachandran, Dinesh P Nair and others have important roles.
As announced earlier, Vidya Balan will star opposite Ajith and Kalki Koechlin has a guest appearance. The film went on floors in February and was initially scheduled to release on May 1 on Ajith’s birthday. But the team did not want to shoot in a hurry. They announced that the release will be on August 10.
Boney Kapoor is producing the film as a dedication to late actress Sridevi, who had wished to work with Ajith. After watching the rushes of the movie recently, he tweeted, “Happy. What a performance by Ajith. I hope he agrees to do Hindi films soon. Have three action scripts. Hope he says yes to at least one of them.”
Ajith has reportedly begun work with Boney Kapoor on his next Tamil film, tentatively titled Thala 60.
