Director H Vinoth’s Ajith-starrer Nerkonda Paarvai will release on August 8.
As reported, the filmmakers decided to change the release date from the initially announced August 10 as the shoot wrapped up before schedule, and they also did not want the film to clash with Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Saaho which releases on August 15.
The film’s producer Boney Kapoor said yesterday that an important update will be made at 6pm. This trended on Twitter, and he confirmed the release date later and also shared a poster featuring Ajith.

The film is a remake of Pink in Tamil and has Ajith reprising Amitabh Bachchan’s role as a lawyer, and Shraddha Srinath as Taapsee Pannu’s character. It tells the same story as the original, with action scenes and two songs added for the Tamil audience.
Abhirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang also star in the lead. Adhik Ravichandran, Rangaraj Pandey, Sujith Shankar, Delhi Ganesh, Jeya Prakash, D Ramachandran, and Dinesh P Nair have supporting roles. Vidya Balan and Kalki Koechlin make a guest appearance. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Gokul Chandran.
The film was scheduled to release on May 1, on Ajith’s birthday, but the makers said they didn’t want to complete the film in a hurry. Shooting began in February this year and wrapped up in three months. A trailer released to a lot of appreciation in June.
Meanwhile, work on Ajith’s next film with H Vinoth and Boney Kapoor will begin soon after the release of Nerkonda Paarvai. This film is a commercial action-entertainer. The rest of the cast and crew is yet to be announced.
It was speculated that Ajith will collaborate for a third film with Boney Kapoor and has also signed a deal a three-film deal for Rs 100 crores with him, but the producer said reports about this were rumours. He tweeted, “While I would love to have him on board for a Hindi film, he has not confirmed anything yet.”
