According to a DNA report, the Neerja director has begun writing for the series along with acclaimed lyricist, Prasoon Joshi. Titled Bodhi Dharma, the series is expected to be shot on a huge budget, and will be bankrolled by Amazon.

A report states the director as saying, “Some months ago, we came across Aparna from Amazon Prime (where the series will be streamed) and she asked us to consider making it into a series. Prasoon and I jumped at it. It began as a feature film, but it will be a series now.”

When asked if he worried about backlash from religious outfits like what director Sanjay Leela Bhansali had to deal with, Madhvani said, “I would fear backlash if I have not researched on the subject. We have had enough people to help us in the research.”

Ram Madhvani will be joining the likes of director Kabir Khan and Vikram Bhatt who are working on web series themselves.

Kabir Khan will begin shooting the web series, tentatively titled as The Forgotten Army, once he completes the post-production of the Salman Khan movie, Tubelight. Vikram Bhatt’s Maaya recently aired on a streaming platform to mixed reviews.
