Nazriya May Reprise Taapsee Pannu’s Role In ‘Pink’ Tamil Remake

Actor Ajith’s next venture was launched recently. Directed by H Vinoth of Sathuranga Vettai fame, it is said to be a Tamil remake of the Hindi film Pink. Latest news is that actor Nazriya Nazim may play Taapsee Pannu’s role in the film. Official confirmation is yet to be made.

Ajith will reprise Amitabh Bachchan’s role in the film. It was reported that Kalyani Priyadarshini was also being considered to play Tapsee’s role from the original.

Nazriya made her acting debut with the Tamil-Malayalam bilingual Neram in 2013. She then acted in director Atlee’s Raja Rani which brought her recognition. Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah in Tamil and Anjali Menon’s Bangalore Days in Malayalam were her last films before her wedding.

After a four-year break from acting, she made a come back in Anjali Menon’s Koode starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead.

For Pink remake, reports suggest that Rangaraj Pandey, who just resigned as the editor-in-chief of Thanthi TV, and Adhik Ravichandran, director of the film Trisha Illana Nayanthara, will star in important roles.

According to Cinema Vikatan, Pandey will play the character of the advocate Piyush Mishra who starred opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Pink. Adhik will play one of the three main antagonists in the film.

A statement by the team said Boney Kapoor is the producer of the film. It was late actor Sridevi’s wish that her husband produces an Ajith-starrer in Tamil.

Boney Kapoor said, “Tamil industry has always been special for me. In fact, it’s been a long journey to collaborate with Ajith for a film, which he took up as sheer commitment from the time he shared screen space with my wife in English Vinglish.

“Accordingly, we both earnestly searched for suitable content that will add special mileage to our respective works. We are now delighted to have joined hands for Pink,” he said.

Music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. It is the his second collaboration with Ajith after Arrambam. Cinematography is by Nirav Shah.
