Nawazuddin Siddiqui has said that he agreed to work on Mom as it would be an opportunity to act alongside Sridevi. Siddiqui tells PTI, as reported by the Indian Express, “When I was approached for the film I just couldn’t refuse as it was an opportunity to act with Sridevi.”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui sports a bald, bespectacled look for this film. He told PTI, “I am happy to see this new look of mine in the film. The film gave me an opportunity to do something different and look so different.” A Times of India report describes the look as “chilling” and “menacing”, and quotes Siddiqui saying, “I was even more excited after seeing my look in the film — it’s very different from whatever I have done so far.”
Mom is billed as a crime thriller, and stars Sridevi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna, and others. Produced by Boney Kapoor and Sunil Manchanda, it is directed by Ravi Udaywar. AR Rahman is the music composer. Mom will release on July 7 in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu.
