The eldest son of actor Nasser — Faizal — met with an accident at around 8 am this morning. Faizal was in a black Volkswagen Polo, bearing the registration number TN-10-AR-6786. He was reportedly on holiday with four of his friends and was on his way back to the city this morning, when his over-speeding car hit a lorry in Manavai village near Mahabalipuram. Three of Faizal’s friends died on the spot.
Early reports from Chettinad Health City, where Faizal and another friend have been admitted, confirmed that they are battling for life; and that, Faizal might have been the one driving as his ribs are fractured – possibly from contact with the steering wheel.
The car in which the youth were travelling has been damaged beyond recognition.

Update (14.48 IST): The friend’s condition is now stable, say hospital authorities while Faizal has just been wheeled out of surgery.
