The Association has also filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking to direct the Kancheepuram district crime branch to take action. According to a report in The Hindu, the association also alleged that the police were reluctant to register an FIR. “The petitioner is forced to assume that since the accused persons are powerful persons, the respondent police is hesitating to take action,” said the Nadigar Sangam.
