Music Composer K Makes Telugu Debut With A Film Without Songs

Music composer K will make his Telugu debut with The Ghazi Attack, promoted as India’s first ever submarine film. The bilingual will be made in Telugu and Hindi, and stars Rana Daggubati and Taapsee Pannu. The story revolves around a naval officer who remains underwater with his team for 18 days. The film will have no songs, but heavy background music.

K, who has worked for 15 films in a six year long career, has largely composed for Tamil and Malayalam. His only work in a Hindi film was the background score for the Hindi remake of Pizza.

In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, K said, “I worked with editor Sreekar Prasad in Pizza (Hindi version) and he was the one who recommended me for Ghazi. I am excited to be part of this film as it is India’s first-ever ‘submarine war’ film. My work is challenging as there are no songs in the movie. Also, this period film set in the 1970s is dependent on heavy background music. We have incorporated orchestral and electronic music”

K rose to fame with Mysskin’s Yuddham Sei, and followed it up with movies like Annayum Rasoolum, Kallappadam, Kirumui, and Kammatipaadam. K has composed for 15 films in a six year long career. Ghazi will be his 16th film.

K received much critical acclaim this year for his work on Aandavan Kattalai and Ammani.
