Murli Ram makes the transition from small screen with a lead role in Thoppi. The actor is very well known in television circles and recently even appeared in supporting roles in a few films. Despite having a cinema background – he is the grandson of well known producer GN Rangarajan- the actor struggled for seven years to get the right kind of roles. “I didn’t want to depend on my family name and decided that I would become a hero on the merit of my hard work and talent. I had some small roles now and then, and somehow established myself,” he said.
Murli Ram finds inspiration in the work of Vijay Sethupathi and Sivakarthikeyan and hopes that his career will be as successful as theirs.
