The madcap village comedy Mundasupatti has registered the highest ever box office opening for a CV Kumar movie. The film was screened at more than 200 theatres and has made around Rs 3 crores during the opening weekend, according to an official press release.
Mundasupatti‘s success can be attributed to its highly innovative promotional strategy – the Mundasupatti makeover site in particular was a huge hit with the audience and stars alike. Several celebrities including actors Vishal, Siddharth, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Vikranth and Santhanam promptly posted images of their makeovers. The humourous story line of the film has been lauded too. Superstar Rajinikanth is said to have really enjoyed the movie at a specially organised private screening.
