Monal Gajjar has reportedly opted out of Velaiyilla Pattathari 2 (VIP 2). According to a Deccan Chronicle report, Monal got busy with her Gujarati films and couldn’t allot dates for the Dhanush – Kajol starrer.
Gajjar was roped in for a role in the film earlier this year. Her role was said to be along the lines of actress Surabhi’s in VIP.

Monal debuted in two Tamil films simultaneously – Sigaram Thodu with Vikram Prabhu and Vaanavarayan Vallavarayan with Kreshna released on 12 September, 2014. With no offers in sight from the Tamil industry, Monal began to concentrate on her Gujarati films. She had filmed for two days for VIP 2 but unfortunately pulled out of the project, sticking to Gujarati films as of now.
Meanwhile, the film’s team is currently working on the last schedule and is expected to complete the shooting soon. Apart from Dhanush and Kajol, the cast includes Amala Paul, Samuthirakani, Saranya Ponvannan, and Hrishikesh. Sean Roldan of Joker fame is the music composer.
