This is not the first time Mohanlal is being praised for fitness. Stunt master Peter Hein, who choreographed the stunt scenes in Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan was reportedly left in awe after seeing Mohanlal’s commitment to fitness. “Lal sir underwent rigorous training in Vietnam disregarding the fact that he is above 50. He worked hard. He was like a kid,” said Hein in a report.

About Mohanlal’s work ethic, Peter Hein said, “Normally in films we see heroes standing aside and dupes doing the stunt scenes. Here it is just the opposite; I am lucky.”

Earlier last year, the actor had accepted a fitness challenge from Union Minister Rajyvardhan Singh Rathode.

Unlike actors from other industries, senior Malayalam film stars have mostly stopped training to go through any physical transformation for their roles in films. Mohanlal however, remains an exception.

His transformation for his latest film Odiyan added to the hype around the movie. According to IE, the actor lost about 18 kg after a strict 15-day weight loss schedule. An expert team with masseurs, yoga masters and dermatologists who travelled from France, helped him get fit.

He also underwent a cosmetic transformation to play the younger self of his character in Odiyan.

There have been other instances where Mohanlal has shared videos of him training. In this one, we see him stretching with the help of his son Pranav Mohanlal.
