Loham Movie Sills

Mohanlal’s Rs 1000-crore project titled Randamoozham was announced a while back, but the film’s producer, BR Shetty recently confirmed that the shooting for the film will begin July next year.

The film, directed by VA Shri Kumar Menon, is based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s novel of the same name. The budget allotted for this film is said to be the highest Malayalam cinema has ever seen. The film was announced by the producer, who is an NRI businessman and will be producing the movie under the banner of his name.

The novel, Randamoozham is based on the epic Mahabharata told from Bhima’s perspective. It won the Vayalar Award for the best literary work in Malayalam in 1985 and the Muttathu Varkey Award in 1994.

BR Shetty also mentioned in his tweet that he has met the director in New Delhi and discussed the project with him. He also added saying that there are lots of celebrities acting alongside Mohanlal in the project and that the pre-production work is nearly over.

The producer had earlier said that a huge Mahabharata-like sets would be created for the film’s shooting. “We will even create a forest. I didn’t come here with money; so every dirham and fils was earned here in Abu Dhabi over the last 43 years,” Shetty had said while stating why the film will be shot in Abu Dhabi.

The film will be made in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu and will be dubbed into major Indian languages and leading foreign languages. There are plans to release it in two parts, with the first part scheduled for release in 2020.

Meanwhile, Shri Kumar Menon and Mohanlal are currently busy with the post production work of Odiyan, scheduled to release on October 10. The actor also has a major role in Prithviraj’s first directorial venture, Lucifer.
