Mohanlal Wraps Up Shoot For Prithviraj’s ‘Lucifer’

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who makes his directorial debut with Lucifer, announced that Mohanlal has finished shooting for the movie. The Mozhi-star expressed his gratitude and termed the opportunity to direct the actor as ‘the absolute highlight of his career’.

Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvaad Cinemas, Lucifer is a political thriller scripted by Murali Gopy. Apart from Mohanlal’s character’s name which is Stephen Nedumpally, not much has been divulged about the movie. The cast includes Vivek Oberoi, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumar and Nandu.

Before the commencement of the shoot, Mohanlal had spoken about Prithviraj on his blog. “It amazes me when an actor of his stature and as occupied as him decides to direct. That’s called passion. And when a man pursues his passion, the subsequent process ceases to become work. He starts to possess a quality of trance. Working with somebody like that becomes a purely creative process and I am in the middle of something similar.”

Originally intended for the late Rajesh Pillai to direct, Prithviraj took over the reins of Lucifer after the untimely demise of the director. While speaking to ToI recently, Mohanlal said there was immense pressure on Prithviraj to come up with a good film and that he was extremely dedicated to the project.

“The hype surrounding the movie is because of the fact that a leading actor is directing another,” observed Mohanlal.
