Bollywood singer Mika Singh was arrested in Dubai on Thursday for alleged sexual misconduct. According to a ToI report, he was accused of sending an inappropriate picture to a 17-year-old Brazilian girl.
Following a complaint filed by the girl, the singer was arrested at 3 am last night at Bur Dubai, and was at the Muraqqabaat police station. The Indian embassy confirmed that the actor was taken into custody.
Earlier today, Navdeep Singh Suri, the Indian Ambassador to the UAE told ANI that the actor was released from detention. “Following efforts by the embassy, singer Mika was released at 11.30 pm last night. He will be produced before a court today,” he said.
According to a TimesNow report, Mika Singh’s brother Daler Mehndi clarified that the girl works with Mika Singh and his team. He said such an incident was unlikely as the girl’s mother usually accompanied her. “I have not been able to talk to him. I also got to know about it recently. Mika had gone for a big show in Dubai. The girl in the question has actually been working with Mika and his group for the last 3-4 years. Her mom is always with her and I don’t think there must have been something like this.”

He also added, “I don’t understand what has happened. I only have this information and I hope things work well for Mika. I am sure things will work in favour of him.”
Mika Singh’s latest track ‘Aankhey Marey’, from the upcoming movie Simmba, released yesterday. The singer has sung numerous hit songs in Bollywood like ‘Mauja Hi Mauja’ from Jab We Met and ‘Subha Hone Na De’ from Desi Boyz.
In 2006, Mika Singh had been accused by actor Rakhi Sawant for forcefully kissing her at a party.
