‘Meesaya Murukku’ Is Hiphop Thamizha Aadhi’s Story, Says Producer Sundar C

Meesaya Murukku marks composer, Hiphop Thamizha fame Aadhi’s acting debut. The composer and now actor plays a character that is inspired from his own life in this romantic musical.

At a press meet for the film, producer Sundar C said that the film is practically Aadhi’s biography. “One day, Aadhi narrated this story to me. It was sort of his biography and how he came up in life. I liked it and told him I would produce it myself. Of course, he has added some masala elements to make it commercial. Except Vivek sir, who plays Aadhi’s dad, I gave him freedom to choose his cast and crew. Most of them are YouTube stars and actors from his music videos,” he said.

Sundar C also told the press about his initial impression of Aadhi. “I met him about four years ago when his song ‘Clubla Mabbula’ was released. He came off as someone who hailed from an affluent family and wasting his parents’ money on making music videos. However, when I needed a composer for one song from Ambala, Aadhi came and played all the songs from private albums in his studio and insisted that he would do the entire Ambala  album. I just had to agree! Since then, he’s been a thambi to me.”

Meesaya Murukku, directed by Hiphop Thamizha – Aadhi and Jeeva – is produced by Sundar C. Apart from acting, Aadhi is also the writer, composer and lyricist of the film. The film stars Athmika as the female lead, and Vivek and Vijayalakshmi in supporting roles.

The film is slated for a July 21 release.
