Masala Padam, starring Bobby Simha and Mirchi Shiva, will be releasing on October 2. The post-production work is already underway and cinematographer turned director Laxman Kumar expects to release the promotional material soon. The film focuses on how movie reviews affect a film’s journey. According to Kumar, such a topic has never been attempted before.
Laxman Kumar is known for his cinematography in Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu and Santhosh Subramanian. Thanking producer Vijay Raghavendra of All In Pictures for his support, Kumar said he had been keen to enter the industry as a director with an innovative topic which would have contemporary relevance.
Written and directed by Laxman Kumar, the supporting cast of Masala Padam includes Gaurav, Lakshmi Devy, Harini Ramesh, Hyde Karty, and Sri Hari. Music director Karthik Acharya will be reviving the Lahari music style in Kollywood with this film.
