Margot Robbie To Executive Produce Harley Quinn Standalone Film

Actress Margot Robbie will serve as Executive Producer on Warner Bros’ standalone Harley Quinn film. Robbie played Quinn to favourable reviews in Suicide Squad earlier this year. Reports of a standalone film have been gaining momentum ever since.

The actress had signed a first-look production deal with Warner Bros recently. Among other things, this means that the Harley Quinn solo film will be produced in association with Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment banner.

According to reports, the film will feature other prominent female villains from the DC universe. The Joker will also feature, though it is unlikely that Jared Leto will return to play the comic book villain.

Robbie will also produce an adaptation of Dean N. Jensen’s Queen of the Air. She will also star in the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Robbie, along with her LuckyChap colleagues, Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr, has already begun developing projects for her home banner. Terminal, a thriller with Max Irons, Mike Meyers, is all set to release later this year; while Margot Robbie starrer I, Tonya is currently under production.

Margot Robbie made her Hollywood debut with Aash Aaron’s Vigilante in 2008. Since then, she has gone on to appear in films such as The Wolf Of Wall Street, Focus, The Big Short to name a few. In her eight-year-long career, Robbie has worked with acclaimed directors like Richard Curtis as well as Martin Scorsese.
