The function was also attended by several bigwigs of the Telugu film industry like Kalyanram Nandamuri, Dil Raju and others. Jr. NTR was supposed to attend the event but couldn’t make it.
Tentatively titled Production No. 3, the movie comes as Keerthy Suresh’s 20th feature film, and her third in Telugu. The actress was last seen in Mahanati that released in 2018. A biopic on the yesteryear actress Savitri Devi, the movie was directed by Nag Ashwin. Her performance in the movie was appreciated.
According to Koneru, the actress will be featured in a strong role in his new movie. Despite Mahanati’s success, it took the actress almost a year to sign a movie in Telugu. Meanwhile, she has been doing quite a few movies in Tamil. Last year, she was seen opposite two superstars – Vijay and Vikram. While Sarkar alongside Vijay went on to become a huge success, Saamy 2, the sequel to Vikram’s 2003 movie Saamy received a lukewarm reception.
She was also paired opposite Suriya in Thaan Serndha Koottam. A remake of the Akshay Kumar starrer Special 26, the movie directed by Vignesh Shivn became a hit. She was the lead heroine in Vishal’s Sandaikozhi 2 too. The actress is currently shooting for Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham in Malayalam. Directed by Priyadarshan, the movie features Mohanlal in the lead.
Koneru also said that a major portion of his new movie would be shot abroad. The shooting for the movie begins in February. More details regarding the cast and crew of the film are awaited. The producer also said that he had a couple of other projects lined up, the announcement for which will be made soon.
