Director Anil Ravipudi, whose latest F2 is still running in theatres, is planning a movie with Mahesh Babu in the lead. The actor has asked the director to develop the film’s script.
A source confirmed this news in a DC report. “The director met Mahesh Babu prior to the release of F2 and narrated a story which Mahesh asked him to develop,” said the source. There are also reports that the actor might put other projects on hold, and start shooting for this film once he finishes Maharshi.
The movie is believed to be an entertainer. This will come as a break for the actor who has mostly been doing movies like Bharat Ane Nenu and Spyder, which are social films with a message.
Anil Ravipudi is a screenwriter turned director who made his directorial debut with Pataas in 2015. He followed it up with Supreme, Raja The Great and F2. F2 features an ensemble cast including actors Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Tamanna and Mehreen Pirzada. The movie, produced by Dil Raju, released in January and has been successful.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is currently working on Maharshi. Recently, he resumed shoot for the film after returning from his New Year vacation in Dubai with family.
According to a report in The Indian Express, the co-producer of the film Dil Raju, while interacting with media at the Tirupati temple, revealed that the film will release on April 25. Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh also play the lead, with veteran actress Jaya Pradha in a pivotal role.
The film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Oopiri fame, and produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Cinemas and PVP Cinemas. KU Mohanan is the cinematographer, and Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer.
Mahesh Babu also has SSMB26 directed by Sukumar, and SSMB27 by director Sandeep Vanga of Arjun Reddy fame. It is speculated that the actor will soon join hands with Boyapati Sreenu, who recently directed Vineya Vidheya Rama. He also has a project with SS Rajamouli, who is currently shooting RRR with Ram Charan and Jr NTR.
