The actor is also awaiting the release of the much awaited Nadodigal 2, a sequel to 2009 Nadodigal directed by Samuthirakani. He has also signed Kombu Vatcha Singamda with director SR Prabhakaran with whom he had earlier done Sundarapandian.

Director Karthik Subbaraj rose to fame with the horror drama Pizza in 2012. His Jigarthanda with Siddharth, Bobby Simha and Lakshmi Menon in the lead was one of the best films in the year 2014. He followed it up with Iraivi and Mercury which received a lukewarm response from the audience. Rajinikanth, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of 2.0, the sequel to Shankar’s Enthiran. Made on a massive budget of over Rs 500 crore, the film also stars Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The 3D teaser of the film was released recently.
