Prithviraj makes his directorial debut with this project.

Mohanlal spoke to ToI about the movie recently where he said that there was a lot of pressure on Prithviraj to make a good film and that he was extremely dedicated to the project.

“Since its announcement till now, Prithviraj has been extremely dedicated to the project. It’s a different movie and it will be shot in Kerala, Mumbai and will also have a foreign location.

“The hype is entirely from the fact that a leading actor is directing another,” Mohanlal observed.

Murali Gopy has a writing credit on this project. The film is an entertainer – ‘a good’ one, according to its lead actor.

“Lucifer will be a good film. It will have an interesting story and narration techniques. It will be a good entertainer that will be liked by everyone,” Mohanlal added. “It is not easy to make an entertainer.”

Prithviraj narrated the script of the film only recently, despite it being launched a good two years ago. Interestingly, the film was originally meant to be directed by the late Rajesh Pillai in 2014. Following his death, Prithviraj took over as director.

Sonia Iyappan is also a part of the project. She reportedly plays Mohanlal’s daughter in the film. Rumours indicate that Vivek Oberoi could be approached for the role of the antagonist. Antony Perumbavoor produces this through his Aashirwaad Cinemas banner.

At present, Mohanlal is busy with the fantasy film Odiyan, for which he underwent a rigorous weight loss program; and Marakkar – Arabikkadalinte Simham, directed by Priyadarshan.

Prithviraj’s latest film, My Story, releases today and he shares screenspace with Parvathy. Produced and directed by Roshni Dinaker, the film is a romance.
