Lucifer Team Requests Fans To Stop Spreading Rumours

Prithviraj Sukumaran, Mohanlal and scriptwriter Murali Gopy, requested fans to stop spreading rumours about their upcoming film Lucifer, after an alleged introduction scene of the protagonist, rumoured to be part of the script, began doing the rounds on social media.

Under the hashtag StopLuciferRumours, Prithviraj Sukumaran shared a screenshot of the Facebook post of an anonymous user who detailed the scene. The screenshot, supported by bits of information already out on promotional posters, revealed that the protagonist commits a murder in the rain and looks at the person one last time before taking off in his black Ambassador car with the nameplate 666.

Prithviraj shared screenwriter Murali Gopy’s Facebook post calling these ‘never-ending rumours.’

Written by Murali Gopy, son of yesteryear National Award-winning actor Gopi, the movie had been making news since it was announced. “The hype surrounding the movie is because of the fact that a leading actor is directing another,” said Mohanlal in an interviewLucifer marks the directorial debut of the actor-playback singer Prithviraj.

Late director Rajesh Pillai was originally supposed to direct the film. Prithviraj took over the reins of Lucifer after the untimely demise of the director. Mohanlal reportedly told ToI there was immense pressure on Prithviraj to come up with a good film and that he was dedicated to the project.

Apart from Mohanlal’s character’s name – Stephen Nedumbally – nothing much has been revealed about his role. The film comes with the tagline, “Blood, Brotherhood, Betrayal.”

Starring Nandhu, Vivek Oberoi, Tovino Thomas and Indrajith Sukumaran, Lucifer is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvaad Cinemas. Sujitha Vaasudev is the cinematographer, and Deepak Dev is the music composer for the movie.

The team has organized an extensive promotional campaign, revealing 26 character posters over the course of 26 days.
