News reader Losliya of Bigg Boss 3 fame may make her Tamil acting debut in an upcoming film with Arulnithi Tamilarasu soon.
In the last two days, it has been widely speculated that an official announcement about her first Tamil film will be made soon. However, sources close to her say these are rumours and nothing can be confirmed yet.
Arulnithi, last seen in the thriller K13, co-starring Shraddha Srinath, recently signed a film with Jiiva and Manjima Mohan directed by newcomer Rajasekharan, and an untitled film with director Seenu Ramasamy. He said in interviews that he has signed up for other films, but no other project has been officially announced yet.
Losliya is hugely popular in Sri Lanka and works as a news reader with Shakthi TV, Sri Lanka’s first Tamil channel. She started her career as a model and has also hosted TV shows.
Her fan base among the Tamil audience has been increasing with each Bigg Boss episode. Clips of her dance moves and songs are making waves on social media. In the latest episode, there was a fight between Losliya and Sakshi Aggarwal, who is the captain of the house this week. But other than this, she has largely stayed out of controversies and mingled with all the contestants in the house.
She was nominated for elimination once in the three weeks of the show, but was saved. She has an army of supporters called ‘Losliya Army’, and many social media accounts with thousands of followers, which are already being compared to actress Oviya’s Army from the first season of the show.

The show began in June and currently has 13 contestants in the house. Fathima Babu, also a news reader, was the first to be evicted, and actress Vanitha Vijaykumar was evicted in a surprising move last week. The show is hosted by actor-politician Kamal Haasan.
