Actress Lissy has filed for divorce from her husband of 24 years – director Priyadarshan. Through an official press release, the actress said, “It is with profound sadness that I am announcing that myself and my husband of 24 years have decided to get separated.”

Lissy and Priyadarshan have been subject to rumours of a rift ever since the beginning of this year. Priyadarshan, though, denied the rumours and claimed that the couple was planning a ‘grand silver jubilee celebration’ next year. Things seem to have taken a different path since then, for Lissy had recently filed the petition with the Family Court in Chennai.
She stated that she had undertaken this decision with the support of her friends and family. She also urged the media to ‘respect her privacy’ in this difficult time.
