Director Lakshmy Ramakrishnan has finished scripting her third project, titled Ammani. Speaking to The New Indian Express, the director stated that the script was inspired by a real person who came on her show Solvathellam Unmai. She also added that Ammani would neither be preachy nor a typical women-centric movie. The cast and crew of Ammani have not been finalised yet.
Lakhmy Ramakrishnan debuted as a director with Aarohanam, followed by Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathey. Both films were well received critically, but box office returns were ordinary.
