‘Kolayuthir Kaalam’ Is Not A Remake Of ‘Hush’, Says Director Chakri Toleti

Director Chakri Toleti has refuted reports that his upcoming Kolayuthir Kaalam is a remake of Hush. The Mike Flanagan directed film released to rave reviews in India earlier this year. Since then, reports of its Tamil remake have been circulating. When Toleti’s film – Kolayuthir Kaalam was announced, it was said to be a remake of Hush.

Chakri Toleti was forced to issue a denial recently. While one of the film’s lead characters is inspired by Hush, the film is completely different from the Hollywood movie, Toleti told DC, “No, the film isn’t a remake of Hush. However, I admit that the lead character is inspired from one of the characters from the film though. Kolayuthir Kaalam is a different plot with multiple actors. We are currently finalising the cast and are planning to announce it soon. Hollywood writers Adam and Carl are penning the script for the film. It is not an adaptation of Hush nor of Sujatha sir’s novel as speculated.”
