Kay Kay Menon: “We Didn’t Respect Om Puri Enough When He Was Alive”

Kay Kay Menon on Om Puri

Kay Kay Menon, whose film The Ghazi Attack released recently, said as Indians we tend to give our love and respect to people only after they are dead, and that we do not respect talent enough while they are still alive. Speaking to DC about veteran actor Om Puri who died recently, Kay Kay Menon said, “I am glad I got to work with him in Ghazi Attack but my only regret is that we didn’t show him enough respect when he was alive. We Indians tend to do this all the time. I think it’s our egoistic disorder.”

In an interview to Bollywood, Bubble Kay Kay Menon said, “Om Puri’s work itself is a memory. I think he is one giant of an actor, but did not get his due. I am sorry to say this. The kind of praise, the kind of love, the kind of accolades that people are giving him after his death… I wish they would have given him when he was alive.”
