Director AR Murugadoss’ Kaththi, featuring Vijay and Samantha, will be remade in Hindi by Murugadoss’ former assistant director, Jagan. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar will reprise Vijay’s role in the remake. The remake will be jointly funded by AR Murugadoss Productions and Lyca Productions. Shooting will begin in April 2016. Actor Akshay Kumar had earlier starred in AR Murugadoss’ directorial Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, the Hindi remake of Vijay’s Thupakki.
