Kasthuri will play the role of a doctor in Vijay Anthony’s upcoming film Tamilarasan. The movie, directed by Babu Yogeshwaran, has Remya Nambeesan as the female lead.

It was reported that Kasthuri has an important part in the movie, with her role as a doctor who aids the hero in his pursuit to put an end to certain practices in the medical industry. Talking to Silverscreen, Kasthuri said, “The entire story takes place in a hospital. The movie is a drama.”
The actress is also gearing up for a web-series in Telugu. “It is a supernatural thriller,” she said. An official announcement from the makers is expected soon.
Meanwhile, Tamilarasan once again features Vijay Antony in the role of a cop after his previous release Thimiru Pudichavan. According to the actor, both characters are poles apart – a reason why he chose to do the film. The movie went on floors earlier this year.
Ilaiyaraaja composes music for the movie. Vijay Antony, a composer-turned-actor who is best known for the song ‘Naakku Mukka’ from Kaadhalil Vizhundhen, maintains that Ilaiyaraaja has remained an inspiration throughout his career. “Ilaiyaraaja sir is a legend and his films like Udhiripookkal have inspired me to a great extent. In fact, that was the spark behind Naan (the 2012 thriller with him as an actor and composer). The audience rooted for me despite me being a not-so-good guy,” the actor was quoted by IE.

“I never thought I would collaborate with Raja sir. I am what I am today because of his music. In many interviews, I have told I don’t know music. And that is the truth. Till this date, I have followed only the ‘Ilaiyaraaja genre’, and that is what keeps me going. We have five songs in the film, and I am hopeful that I would get to sing at least one. Raja sir told me he is extremely satisfied with the way the songs have come out. I feel blessed to have him compose music for my film,” he added.
Tamilarasan has been produced by Kousalya Rani under the banner SNS Movies. RD Rajasekhar is the cinematographer and Anal Arasu is the stunt director. The movie is expected to release after the Indian Premier League season.
