The Mumbai police’s probe into the alleged romantic emails sent by Hrithik Roshan to Kangana Ranaut is officially over.
The emails allegedly indicated that Hrithik Roshan was in a relationship with Kangana. Roshan, however, has maintained that the emails in question were the handiwork of an impostor. He even sent a notice to Ranaut demanding an apology. His team denies Ranaut’s claims that the two were in a clandestine relationship, and instead claims that Ranaut has Asperger’s syndrome.
However, Joint Commissioner (Crime Branch) Sanjay Saxena says that no evidence of an impostor has thus far been found, “We have been unable to find anything on the mail ID as the server is located in the US. Now it is very difficult to ascertain who was using the account. Still, we will try to conclude [the case] from the available evidence.”
Ranaut’s laywer Rizwan Siddiquee says this is a good outcome for Ranaut’s case, “Now that the police have failed to find the person behind this incident, it has worked to Ranaut’s favour.” Rizwan Siddiquee told the Indian Express, “We have always maintained that there is no impostor and it’s very silly on the part of Hrithik to suggest that this is the work of an impostor. Hrithik and Kangana have done three films together. They were very close and photographs have suggested that. How can Kangana start communicating with an impostor? When I had cornered Hrithik with my questions, he had no answers. Hrithik had lied to the media and police that there is an imposter who is sending mails on his behalf and that a fan had told him that. He then went an filed a complaint against this so-called impostor. And Hrithik started circulating private forensic reports through his team. When a police investigation is already going on, can you send a private detective and find out? Hrithik did all of that to save his name. Eventually what happened is with the police report coming out as NIL, it has been proved that whatever Hrithik was saying was a total lie. His lies have been nailed. NIL report means nothing matches with what Hrithik was saying.”

Rizwan said that Hrithik had to take responsibility for his actions, “He is answerable for his actions as much as he is answerable for filing a false complaint. No one can deny the fact that my client had to uselessly bear the brunt of unwarranted and uncalled for actions on the part of Hrithik. Besides the truth being on her side, my client had the will power, strength and determination to fight for her name and dignity. The same would not have been the case for everyone else.”
Rizwan also alleged that the police did not act for a time because of the actor’s star status, “Hrithik is a big filmstar. Had it been a private party, the cops would have filed B summary with prosecution which means you are filing a false complaint and wasting our time. Because of all these timepass that Hrithik did my client Kangana was publicly harassed.”
