Kamal Haasan To Launch Mobile App On His Birthday

Confirming his political plunge, actor Kamal Haasan on Sunday said the first step will be the launch of a mobile app on November 7 – his 63rd birthday – that will enable him to be in touch with the fans and as well as book-keeping.

At a function to mark the 39th anniversary of his fan/welfare club, he said his political plunge by starting a political party is confirmed.

Haasan said the political party launch will happen in a calm manner and the launch of mobile app is the first step on November 7.

He said his fans would contribute funds for the political party and the mobile app will facilitate keeping proper accounts of funds collected. According to him, there is no shame in stretching out one’s hands for the welfare of the people and if only the rich pay their taxes properly, the country would be on the right path.

Kamal said November 7 is a day not to cut a cake and celebrate but a day to cut canals, obliquely referring to the flooding of several localities in the city due to recent rains.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali Dared To Make Films On Other Religions By Union Minister

Union Minister Giriraj Singh dared director Sanjay Leela Bhansali to make films on other religions. Speaking to ANI, the minister questioned if the Padmavati director had the guts to do so.

Padmavati has been subjected to severe flak from right-winged outfits, especially from the Karni Sena, who have opposed the depiction of Rani Padmini, claiming that Bhansali’s version is a distortion of history. The film, starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh is scheduled for a December 1 release.

Ranveer Singh On Playing Alauddin Khilji: ‘At This Stage, It’s Dicey’

In an exclusive interview with Filmfare magazine, Ranveer Singh opened up about his reservations on playing a negative character like Alauddin Khilji. Admitting that it’s risky for an actor like him to play a negative character at this stage in his career, he says that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali actually pushes him to do his best.

“Only when I see the film, will I be able to assess my character. It’s a risky move for me. That’s why I took so much time to sign it. For a mainstream leading man to make a choice like this at this stage is dicey. It’s a despicable character. He’s mean,” he said, adding that a senior actor had advised him to be careful. But he trusts Bhansali enough to not say no to him.

“I felt if I had to play negative, it had to be with Mr Bhansali. Also, I cannot say no to him. If I have any standing, it’s because of his films. He gave me Goliyon Ki RaasleelaRam-Leela at a time when my career wasn’t going great guns. He had me play Bajirao in Bajirao Mastani, a character that was ahead of my years. I’m indebted to him as an artiste. He has pushed my boundaries and got the best out of me,” he adds.
