Kalidas Jayaram has started shooting for Jeethu Joseph’s directorial. The Poomaram star made the announcement through a Facebook post.
Produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner Sree Gokulam Movies, the movie features Aparna Balamurali as the female lead and, producer Vijay Babu and Ganapathi. The pooja function of the movie was attended by producer Antony Perumbavoor and actor Jayaram. The makers had earlier put out a casting call inviting applicants to portray the childhood days of certain characters.
Jeethu Joseph, who has just wrapped the shoot for his debut Bollywood movie Body starring Emraan Hashmi, Rishi Kapoor and Sobhita Dhulipala, had earlier directed Mohanlal’s son, Pranav Mohanlal in this year’s Aadhi. It’ll be the 11th time that Joesph will be donning the director’s hat with the Kalidas Jayaram-starrer.
Meanwhile, Kalidas Jayaram has been signed on by director Midhun Manuel Thomas for a movie called Argentina Fans Kattoorkadavu. Based on a short story by Ashokan Cheruvil, the movie will feature Aishwarya Lekshmi as the female lead as well as a bunch of newcomers. Midhun Manuel Thomas will then move on to the Jayasurya-starrer Turbo Peter.
Kalidas Jayaram has also signed on to star in director Alphonse Puthren’s next movie. The project marks Puthren’s return to direction after Premam which released in 2015. In between, he has been producing movies like Thobama which released this year.

Gokulam Gopalan, the man who has produced movies like Pazhassi Raja, is currently gearing up for the release of his latest film, Kayamkulam Kochunni. The movie which has Nivin Pauly playing the titular character is directed by Rosshan Andrews and also features Mohanlal in a cameo as Ithikkara Pakki.
Originally planned as an Onam release, the movie got postponed because of the flood crisis in Kerala. The producer had earlier made Kammara Sambhavam which released this year.
