The team of Soundarya Rajinikanth’s Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK) has approached Kajal Aggarwal and Manjima Mohan for leading roles in the film. The film is likely to star Dhanush as the male lead.
A source close to the film told Silverscreen, “We’d approached Sonam for the role earlier. But, it was very unlikely that she’d sign for the film. Now, we are in talks with Kajal and Manjima. We’re also looking to cast fresh faces in some major roles in the project.”
A spokesperson for Soundarya said it was too soon to confirm, “We’re in talks with several leading actors and actresses for the role. It is too early to talk about it right now.”

NEEK is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu through V Creations. The film will start rolling in early-2017. A romantic comedy, the film is Soundarya’s second film, after Kochadaiiyaan (2014), a historical epic.
Dhanush has written the story, screenplay of NEEK. Sean Roldan is likely to score the music for this project.
Kajal is currently busy filming Khaidi No 150 and Ajith 57. Manjima’s Tamil debut film Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada is scheduled to release this month.
