‘Kaatrin Mozhi Has A Simple, Yet Heartwarming Story’: Vidhaarth

Kaatrin Mozhi has a simple yet heartwarming story which will appeal to everyone, said actor Vidhaarth while addressing the students of Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology, Chennai at an event recently. “After watching Tumhari Sulu, I felt that I had to be a part of the remake,” he said.

Tumhari Sulu released last year on November 17. The film is about a middle-class woman, who takes up the job of a late night radio jockey. In Kaatrin Mozhi, Jyothika plays Vidya Balan’s role, actor Vidaarth will be seen in Manav Kaul’s role who played Vidya Balan’s husband in the film.

Talking about his experience of working with Jyothika, he said, “Working with Jyothika madam was a great experience and I am not saying it because I am expected to say these things on occasions like this.”

“There are only few films which give complete satisfaction while dubbing. Kaatrin Mozhi offered me such an experience,” Vidhaarth added.

Referring to his previous movies like Kurangu Bommai, Oru Kidaiyin Karunai Manu and Kuttrame Thandanai, he said that his work has always been appreciated by youngsters and college students. “Everyone in my family are well educated. It’s me who missed college. But I have realized that it’s not just about the academics, but also about your passion and self-determination towards something that will help you achieve success,” the actor said. He also reminisced about stealthily eating parottas at the Loyola college canteen.

He concluded his speech by encouraging students to finish their education and then pursue their dreams.

Kaatrin Mozhi, directed by Radha Mohan, is slated to release on October 18. The film also stars Lakshmi Manchu, Kumaravel, M S Bhaskar, Manobala, Mohan Raman, Uma Padmanabhan, Seema Taneja, Sindhu and others. While music is composed by A H Kaashif, lyrics are by Madhan Karky.
