The makers of action drama Kaali has released the film’s first seven minutes on YouTube. Directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, the film stars Vijay Antony in the lead role.

The seven-minute video focuses on establishing Vijay Antony’s character, Bharath, who frequently gets nightmares of a mother and her child getting attacked by a bull and a snake. After this recurring dream wakes him up one night, he starts to narrate his life story through which the audience gets to know that his father and him are running a multi-specialty hospital in the US. As the story progresses, his mother gets ill and is eventually revealed that he’s been adopted. Finally, Bharath goes to India to find out the truth about his past life.
The film’s trailer also showed Bharat’s desire to understand the dreams that leads him to a village called Kanavikarai where he discovers things about himself. Vijay Antony is seen in dual roles in the trailer – one as Bharath a doctor, and the other as a villager.
Kiruthiga had previously directed the 2013 film Vanakkam Chennai, starring Shiva and Priya Anand in the lead, while Vijay Antony was last seen in the family drama Annadurai.
Kaali also stars Anjali, Sunanina, Nasser, Yogi Babu, Jayaprakash and Shilpa. The film is bankrolled by Fatima Vijay Antony under Vijay Antony Film Corporation.
