Earlier this month, assistant director Rajasekharan had accused Pa Ranjith, Dhanush and Rajinikanth of stealing his title, and plagiarising his script to make Kaala. The assistant director claimed that he had written a script based on King Karikala Cholan, and had even met Rajinikanth sir to discuss the script. While the film didn’t take off, he heard that Rajini had started a movie titled Kaala. Rajasekharan then came to the conclusion that Dhanush had stolen his script. He further claimed that the script had been altered and registered with the title at the South Indian Film Chamber Of Commerce.
