Junga Trailer And Audio Launch: Vijay Sethupathi Plays A Goofy ‘Budget’ Don

Not like Tamil cinema needed another mass hero, but here comes Vijay Sethupathi as the goofy don in Junga. The trailer, which was released on Tuesday, shows Vijay Sethupathi as “lovable, budgeted Don.” This Don slays villains (some of them are oddly French), mouths punchlines, romances but is also a goofball. With its funny gags and a poster that says “Junga’s summer offer – kidnapping free”, the film looks more like a spoof.

Along with the trailer, four audio tracks of the film were also launched today. Vijay Sethupathi, Sayyeshaa, director Gokul, Saranya Ponvannan, Nasser, producers Arun Pandian, R. Ganesh, director R.B Chowdry and many others were present at the event in the Chennai.

The film’s music is composed by Siddharth Vipin and the lyrics are by Lalit Anand. On the film, director Gokul said, “It’s the life of a young man from a budget family from Chennai’s Parrys who goes to Paris. The film was shot in various foreign locations such as Paris, Azerbaijan, Austria and Georgia.”

It is the director’s second film with Vijay Sethupathi, they had worked earlier in Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara (IAB). “IAB was for the youngsters but Junga is for all age groups,” he says.

Actor Nasser, who was present at the event, said, “I saw Vijay Sethupathi playing a king’s role in Uthiramerur temple many years back, but now he’s the real King among his fans.”

When asked about the meaning of the film’s title, the usually reticent Vijay Sethupathi said, “My grandfather is Linga, My father is Ranga and I am Junga” and winked at the audience.
