Deeply disturbed by a picture of veteran actor Vinod Khanna that has been circulating on social media, actor Irrfan Khan says he is ready donate one of his organs if Vinod Khanna needs it. The image shows Vinod Khanna looking pale and gaunt, and has given rise to speculations that Khanna is suffering from cancer.
Speaking to reporters at the trailer launch of his film Hindi Medium yesterday, Irrfan Khan said he was shocked when he saw the photo, reported the Hindustan Times via PTI.
“I saw his photo today and I was shocked. I pray to God for his good health. I hope he gets well soon. If needed, I’ll donate one of my organs to him. I think he is the most beautiful person in the entire industry,” he said. He also said that he has always been a huge fan of the “beautiful actor”, having watched all his films, including Khoon Pasina (1977) and Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1971).
Rahul Khanna, Vinod Khanna’s eldest son, said that the 70-year-old actor was hospitalised at the Sir HN Reliance Foundation and Research Centre in Girgaon, Mumbai on March 31 owing to severe dehydration. However, the latest update from the doctors treating him is that Khanna’s condition is currently stable and he is responding positively to treatment, reported the Hindustan Times via IANS.
