In an interview to Times of India Roopa said that music is her second passion, and for the film, she was approached by director Baragur Ramachandrappa to sing a song titled ‘Kempaane Soorya’, composed by Shamitha Malnad.

She said, “The director had come to meet me at my office and asked me whether I could sing a song for the movie. Considering that we have never met or communicated earlier, it was a pleasant surprise. He might have heard me singing at the television channels where I was asked to hum a few lines of a song. Since singing is a passion, I pounced at the opportunity. But before saying yes, I read the lyrics. I am not comfortable singing romantic songs. This one is about nature and the simple life one leads in a village, so I decided to give it a shot.”
