‘Honey Bee 2’ Director Jean Paul Lal’s Father Defends Him; Accuses Actress Of False Allegations

Actor and director Lal has come to the defence of his son, filmmaker Jean Paul Lal, who, along with some colleagues, has been booked for allegedly passing lewd remarks against an actress. Slamming the actress for her “false” allegations, he claimed that she threw a number of tantrums and had many demands. Her work was also not up to the mark, forcing the team to change the script and edit out her portions.

“Last month, we were served a notice following a police complaint filed by her. We were considering giving her Rs. 50,000 instead of the promised remuneration of Rs. 25,000. But, she asked for a public apology on television and Rs. 10 lakh as compensation. At that juncture, I was the one who said there was no need for such a settlement,” Lal told Manorama News.

He questioned why the actress delayed filing the case, considering Honey Bee 2 released in March, and said that while there are genuine cases of actresses facing attacks, this one was not true.

Jean Paul Lal made his directorial debut with Honey Bee (2013), which was commercially successful. But, his next, Honey Bee 2, released this year and flopped at the box office.

Others booked in the case are actor Sreenath Bhasi and technicians Anirudh and Anoop. The actress filed a complaint, saying the filmmaker and some of his team passed some lewd remarks when she met them at Pannakad Hotel to discuss her remuneration for Honey Bee 2. Jean has reportedly been questioned by the police with respect to this case.
