Hansika Motwani has signed on to play the lead in JyoStar Enterprises’ next, a ‘female-oriented’ suspense thriller. The untitled Tamil project will be a massive change from her established ‘bubbly’ image. The film will be directed by debutant U.R Jameel who has worked as an associate director for movies like Masala Padam, Romeo Juliet, and Bogan.
Speaking to Sify News about his directorial debut, Jameel said: “I went to Mumbai to narrate the story to Hansika, she patiently listened to the story for nearly three hours and immediately gave her nod. Hansika is actually too young, she is only 26 now and an actress of her age would be skeptical to accept female-centric films because many of them are afraid whether the regular mainstream roles would come their way or not but Hansika was confident. In fact, we discussed for three more hours on how to establish her character,” he said.
Incidentally, over a year ago, Hansika had expressed her skepticism on starring in a women-centric film.
This untitled film’s shooting will commence next month and the title will be announced soon. Other members of the cast and crew will be announced too. Apart from this, Hansika also has Thuppakki Munai and a cop action film with Sam Anton and Atharvaa in the pipeline.
