A press release says that Hansika was required to perform an intensive stunt sequence involving a somersault on the floor. She mistimed herself, and suffered a minor injury. She was given first aid and was advised to take rest, but she is said to have politely refused. She later completed the sequence without any hand movement.

Directed by debutant UR Jameel, Maha marks Hansika’s 50th film, and features actor Srikanth in a pivotal role. The film stars Karunakaran and Thambi Ramaiah in supporting roles. Music is by Ghibran. It marks the composer’s 25th project. Madhan Karky has written lyrics for Maha.

The film is said to be a woman-centric crime thriller. Not much about the plot has been revealed yet.

In December, the third poster of the film was unveiled. In a hijab, the actress was seen praying in front of a Mosque, while there was a shadow of her with a gun in the backdrop. The film’s first two posters which also released the same month were mired in controversy.

case was filed against the actress and the director for ‘hurting religious sentiments’ in the film’s first look poster. It featured her smoking in saffron clothes, sitting on a grand chair, in a place like Varanasi in the background.

In another poster she was seen sitting in a blood bath tub in a room that looked haunted with blown out candles and a small window. The fourth and latest poster which released on Pongal, featured the actress reading a burning newspaper.

Recently, pictures and selfies of the actress in swimsuits became viral after they were leaked online. Hansika tweeted that her phone and Twitter handles had been hacked, and asked everyone not to respond to random messages.

Hansika was last seen in Thuppakki Munai with Vikram Prabhu. It was directed by Dinesh Selvaraj. She is currently working on the action thriller 100, with Atharvaa in the lead, directed by Sam Anton of Darling fame.
