The Damien Chazelle musical staring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone swept a couple of awards for itself. The lead actors grabbed the Best Actor and Actress award in a Musical/Comedy. The movie also bagged the Best Musical/Comedy motion picture and Damien Chazelle won the Best Director for a motion picture. Well, we clearly cannot afford to forget the music that kept us hooked to this brilliantly shot movie. Justin Hurwitz won the Best Original Score.

British actors seem to have stolen the limelight when it came to TV categories at the Golden Globes Awards. The BBC Spy drama The Night Manager bagged a total of 3 awards as Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, and Hugh Laurie got acting awards.

The Night Manager is a six-part thriller, and has been adapted from the 1993 John Le Carre novel of the same name. Tom Hiddleston won the award for best performance by an actor in a mini-series or TV movie. He dedicated his award to the aid workers in Sudan where he traveled recently to.

Hugh Laurie won best-supporting actor in a mini series. “Thank you to the HFPA for this amazing honour,” he said. “I suppose made more amazing by the fact that I’ll be able to say I won this at the last ever Golden Globes.”

Olivia Colman was best-supporting actress in a mini series. However, she was not present at the ceremony.
