First Look Of Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s ‘House Owner’ Out

The first look of the movie House Owner was revealed by director Pandiaraj and actor-director Samuthirakani on Twitter yesterday. The movie has been directed by Lakshmy Ramakrishnan who, in the past, has helmed acclaimed films like Ammani, Nerungi Vaa Muthamidaathe and Aarohanam.

Featuring Aadukalam Kishore and newcomer Lovelyn Chandrashekhar in lead roles, the first look poster of the movie has both of them against a water-coloured background and presents them in a happy mood gazing at something distant.

This though stands in stark contrast with the mood of the story which is supposed to be based on the Chennai floods and a romance that blossoms between two people during the time. The director had earlier stated that the story also contains portions that are set 40 years ago. Kishore of Pasanga fame plays another major character in the movie.

The title has been borrowed from another project of the director’s that had been planned with Aishwarya Rajesh and Ashok Selvan in lead roles but was later postponed due to the non-availability of the actors. “I had my Solvathellam Unmai commitments and only the first draft of the script was ready. And then, Ashok and Aishwarya got busy with other films,” said Lakshmy.

Lovelyn is the daughter of actress Viji Chandrashekhar.

Music director Ghibran has scored the music for House Owner while Krishnashekar TS has handled the cinematography. T S Prem Kumar has edited the film.

Lakshmy Ramakrishnan made her film debut through the Malayalam movie Chakkaramuthu in 2006. She then began starring in Tamil movies and won public attention in 2011 through Mysskin’s Yudham Sei in which she played the role of a mother who wanted to avenge her daughter’s death.

Before directing feature films, Ramakrishnan had made close to six short films. House Owner marks her fourth feature film. Recently, the actor-director voiced support for singer Chinmayi and filmmaker Leena Manimekalai in the #MeToo campaign.
