Filmmaker Anjali Menon recently opened a new office of her production company, Little Films India, in Kochi. The company, headquartered in Mumbai, has co-produced Manjadikkuru, Bangalore Days and Koode, all directed by Anjali.
The production house was officially registered in 2006. In 2008, the company produced Sutradhar, a documentary film by Anjali Menon on the life and works of Kavalam Narayana Panikker. Announcing the opening of the Kochi office, the filmmaker wrote on Facebook that the company is also looking to collaborate on documentary projects set in Kerala.

Anjali, a graduate of London Film School, started her career as a short film and documentary filmmaker. Her debut feature film Manjadikkuru, a family drama set in a Kerala village and narrated through the eyes of three children, won the FIPRESCI Prize for Best Malayalam Film in 2008. Later, she directed a segment in Malayalam anthology film Kerala Cafe, and wrote the screenplay of Anwar Rasheed’s Ustad Hotel (2012). She won a National Award for best screenwriting for Ustad Hotel. Her second feature directorial Bangalore Days (2014), starring Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya Nazim, Parvathy, Dulquer Salman and Nivin Pauly, turned out to be a blockbuster in and outside Kerala. Her last work Koode, a remake of the Marathi family-drama Happy Journey, featured Nazriya, Prithviraj and Parvathy in the lead roles. Last week, Baylon Fonseca, the film’s sound designer won the award for excellence in audio post production from the Indian Recording Arts Academy (IRAA). Menon is also an active member of Women In Cinema Collective in the Malayalam film industry.
